Application as a Victim of Domestic Violence

You can apply for a settlement as a victim of Domestic Violence where you have, or were last granted, permission as a partner on a specified route, and the relationship has permanently broken down due to domestic abuse. An applicant who has permission to stay in the UK under Appendix FM and wants to apply for a settlement as a victim of domestic violence must meet the relevant eligibility requirements as set out in Appendix Victim of Domestic Abuse of the Immigration Rules.

To apply for a settlement as a victim of domestic abuse, the applicant must be in the UK, unless the applicant is overseas because they have been abandoned overseas. The dependent children can also apply for settlement under this route, along with the applicant applying as a victim of domestic violence.

An alternative route may be available for relevant family members of EU nationals under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) who are victims of domestic abuse.
